The Rescue

So yes Uganda...

I wanted to update this sooner as i am sure there was probably one in Kansas city and you all could of gone to it, but its been a busy week.

its been a busy week because i loosely organized a group of youngsters(16-22yr olds-i feel like i can say that now since i am officially in my late 20s!)to go to the rescue. some of you know i have been involved here and there with an organization called invisible children over the past 5 years. 3 young men started it 6 years ago when they filmed what was going on in northern Uganda...the longest running war in Africa. its going on 23 years and thousands of people die in displacement camps each week and children are abducted to be soldiers in a war that is not theirs to fight. for more info go to http://www.invisiblechildren.com/

the rescue is an event to raise awareness and encourage leaders to stand up for justice. the rescue event is happening in 100 cities all over the world. the event that we went to was in Tallahassee, FL as it was the closest one happening to waynesville/Brunswick GA. the protest was saying that we are abducting ourselves on behalf of thousands of children who have been abducted and are going to wait until someone in leadership comes to the rescue to make a stand.

Tallahassee was rescued and we had a representative for Allen Boyd come out and about 6 other letters from congressmen and so on encouraging the cause. however many more cities have not been rescued and we want all 100 to be rescued...because we LONG for this war to end today!!!

so yes...uganda...God cries out for the suffering that is going on there...and because Much Ministries is about doing Kingdom work and because they see this sort of event as full of the heart of Jesus...we sponsored a group to the event. we had a group of 6 girls and 6 boys. and it was wonderful to be with them. they are our future leaders and they are already going out to change the world. its really beautiful.

so there you have most of the logistics...i am going to go play stuck in the mud with Rebbecca and her friend Victoria...but then i hope to get on and post more of how my heart felt about it all...what amazing things the group did and how it is really fitting into much ministries...

still curious go to the website...there is live feed on the event. http://www.invisiblechildren.com/
